From Cinderella to Kidchella: Five Over-the-Top Celebrity Baby Birthday Parties

Celebrities are known for their extravagant parties, and that includes the birthday bashes they throw for their kids. Take a look at these over-the-top baby birthday parties hosted by celebs. (Too bad their babies won’t remember them!)

Kardashian Kidchella

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West recently threw an epic music festival-themed bash for daughter North West’s 1st birthday, according to Us Weekly. Yes, it was Kidchella (not to be confused with California's annual Coachella festival),  and the festivities included a ferris wheel, face-painting, a bounce house, and  sno-cone, funnel cake, and cotton candy food stands. In addition, friends and family jumped on stage to sing their favorite songs. Let’s hope one of them was “Happy Birthday.”

Butterfly Bash

Who says butterflies are free? When Suri Cruise turned two back in 2008, proud parents Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes doled out $100,000 for her butterfly-themed bash, according to the New York Daily News. The pricey party included a $45,000 Wolfgang Puck feast, $17,000 worth of fresh flowers, and a  four-tier cake topped with yellow and white sugar butterflies. There were even real butterflies – 1,000 of them -flying around as Suri blew out her two birthday candles.

Lavish Ladybugs

In 2009, Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott went buggy for daughter Stella’s first birthday. The tot’s ladybug-themed bash featured a gardening station, ladybug sprinklers, a ladybug insect zoo, pony rides, and kiddie musical group The Jumpitz. The party was featured on the couple’s reality show, while People magazine put a price on the party bags, which boasted $2,500 worth of goodies and gift certificates for each guest.

Blue Barbie

Beyonce and Jay-Z’s baby girl surely wasn’t blue after her first birthday bash, although she probably doesn’t have any recollection of the $95,000 array of pink and white roses or the $2400 cake. Baby Blue Ivy Carter also received a custom-made $80,000 diamond-encrusted Barbie doll, according to The Sun, while the guests received expensive jewelry and toys.

Cinderella Sutter

Her mom’s wedding was a fairytale, so it’s no surprise that Blakesley Sutter celebrated her third birthday with a Cinderella-theme. And we’re sure she had a ball! The daughter of Bachelorette alums Trista and Ryan Sutter gave Celebrity Baby Scoop all the details on the ultimate princess party held at a gorgeous Vail hotel with a glass ceiling. Activities included a dress up area with custom made tutu dresses, a castle pinata, and a pin-the-tiara on the princess game designed especially for the birthday girl by Anders and Ruff. And the goodie bags for the guests included $350 worth of loot, including quilted princess and frog themed backpacks, as well as coordinating accessories. As for the party’s total tally?  “The price tag…probably too much for a 3-year-old,” Trista said. “But I love throwing parties for my babies and I couldn’t stop myself!”
